The Best Timecode Control Vinyl and DVS
DVS timecode is vinyl that has been recorded with an audio signal that can be read by a computer and tracked after some time. When you stop a timecode vinyl, or scratch with a timecode vinyl, your computer recognises this. Vinyl is one of the characterising elements of DJing, and whether you want to go old-school and scratch with music records or engage your turntable as a controller for digital media, a DJ vinyl will have a place to fit in your setup. Like whatever else you use, what matters is finding the best fit for your requirements and your preferences.

Slipmats go between your DJ turntable platter and the vinyl itself, enabling you to manage the record while the turntable keeps on spinning.
Vinyl users who did not like the transition from vinyl to CD and digital DJing formats found DVS vinyl to be a great link. People with traditional DJ skills can continue using their skills with wax. You will no longer need to carry heavy bags of records to every gig!

A Digital Vinyl System or DVS is a setup where users can operate DJ software with unique vinyl records. These records are encoded with timecode and users can play audio files from computers, and manipulate the playback as if it were coming from a vinyl record. DVS users can perform turntable tricks like scratching and beat-juggling. These skills originated with vinyl and can only be simulated in other digital mediums.
Modern DVS packages have more functionality than the older ones. Some of their features include mixing and looping multiple decks, EQ's and effects, library management and sharing systems.
Vendors can help you with a range of solutions to give your digital music that vinyl feel and control. Vinyl has better-scratching abilities, and by adding timecode vinyl or CD's, you have a much more robust scratching platform. Vinyl also produces better sound quality - Many also people find that the sound quality via time coded vinyl or cd is a warmer and crisper sound.
If you are spinning with timecode, you should display the scratch panels. The scratch panel contains the RST button; you require this button to calibrate your decks. The scope view provides valuable information that can help solve timecode related issues. If you have any questions relating to timecode vinyl or DVS, please don't hesitate to contact The Disc.
It's possible to use Mixxx's vinyl control with several hardware setups, but the basic ones are:
Setup 1: Vinyl DJTwo timecoded records, two turntables with phono preamps (or line-out), and two “sound inputs”. You can skip the phono amplifiers if you use the snazzy new software preamp in Mixxx, though this will not provide as clean a signal and may not work for everyone - line-level signals are preferred.

Setup 2: CDJTwo timecoded CDs, two CD decks, and two “sound inputs”.
Now, for the “sound inputs”, you have two options: You can either use a fancy DJ soundcard that has multiple stereo line inputs on it, or can use two soundcards (each with a single stereo line in). Currently, Mixxx's vinyl control has only been tested with the latter configuration. Don't use mic inputs! They're not stereo and won't work!
For best scratch performance with vinyl control, your system must be able to handle setting the latency to 10ms or less otherwise the scratch sound will start to become distorted as latencies (and lag time) increase.
For timecoded records or CDs, you can use any of the records supported by Mixxx:
